In Brief
Appellant No. 4 sought bail pending hearing of a criminal appeal against conviction for offences under Sections 148 and 302/149 IPC. The High Court had set aside an earlier acquittal and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The Supreme Court allowed the bail application, considering that the appellant had undergone approximately 10 years of imprisonment, maintained good conduct in jail, and faced severe family hardship following his wife's death in February 2018. The Court held that in the totality of circumstances, justice required that bail be granted.
