Ganga Pal vs State of Madhya Pradesh

Bench: 2 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

The Supreme Court granted bail to Ganga Pal, the father-in-law of a deceased woman, in a criminal matter arising from the High Court's bail refusal. Upon examining the dying declarations of the deceased, the Court found no allegations against the appellant. Although the investigating officer had reported appellant's suspected involvement, the Court held that the absence of blame in dying declarations should be given greater weight than the investigating officer's report for bail purposes. Accordingly, bail was granted to the appellant's satisfaction.
