In Brief
Geeta Devi and another filed criminal special leave petitions challenging potential arrests in connection with certain offences. The Supreme Court noted that an arbitrator had been appointed under Section 11(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 to mediate and resolve the disputes between the parties. The Court granted interim protection from arrest to petitioner Naresh Kumar pending the arbitrator's report on whether the parties settled their disputes amicably, and extended the earlier interim order until the next hearing date on 16 November 2018.
