Haridas vs Director State Project & Anr

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

The appellants sought absorption into State Government employment, claiming they were similarly situated to employees in Civil Appeal Nos. 9165-9172 of 2009, which the Supreme Court had directed to be absorbed with backwages limited to 40% due to long service breaks. The High Court had not considered this prior judgment. The Court disposed of the appeals, directing the respondents to reconsider the appellants' cases in light of the 2009 judgment and grant similar treatment if they were indeed similarly situated, to be completed within three months.
