J. Linet vs Assistant Manager (Depot) Food Corporation of India & Ors

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

J. Linet, a casual worker at the Food Corporation of India, claimed additional wages for working as a Messenger for two and a half years beyond her normal duties. The High Court found her entitled to such additional payment and directed the respondents to consider it. The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's finding as final and ordered the respondents to disburse the wage difference for the two-and-a-half-year period in the Messenger role, after adjusting amounts already paid to her as a casual worker, within two months.
