The Supreme Court found that Sanjay Gupta, who had filed a personal undertaking in 2004 not to resume industrial activities in his residential premises in Delhi, deliberately continued running a dal mill there until 2015 despite Court orders, public notices, and fresh undertakings. Having consciously defied the Court's directions over a decade, the Court held him in contempt and sentenced him to ten days imprisonment plus a fine of ₹10,000 per month for the duration of violation, to be paid into the Advocate-on-Record Welfare Trust."
