In Brief
The Supreme Court heard appeals by Jai Narain Vyas University against High Court orders directing regularization of contractual employees who had served 15-30 years. The Court upheld the employees' entitlement to regularization and notional service continuity from the date similarly situated employees were regularized. However, it limited actual consequential financial benefits to three years prior to filing the writ petitions, balancing employee equity with the University's financial capacity. The appeals were partly allowed.
