In Brief
Three appellants were convicted of murdering a man (Mandar Singh) on 26 February 2000, allegedly in revenge for injuries the deceased had previously caused to the father of two of the accused. The appellants attacked the victim with gandasas (axes) near a tomb, fatally wounding him. The trial court and High Court both found the eye-witness accounts of the victim's parents credible and confirmed guilt under Section 302 (murder) read with Section 34 (common intention) of the IPC. The Supreme Court upheld both convictions, finding no reason to disturb the concurrent findings below. One appellant's sentence was reduced as he was a juvenile. The appeal was dismissed.
