In Brief
Lal Babu Das and others challenged a High Court judgment concerning land valuation in an acquisition dispute. The Supreme Court reviewed the record and comparable sale instances to assess whether the Reference Court's or High Court's valuation was more just. Finding the Reference Court's valuation to be more equitable, the Court set aside the High Court's judgment and restored the Reference Court's order under Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1984. The appeals were allowed with no order regarding costs.
