Lovely Bal Shiksha Parishad, a society operating a middle school, challenged the Delhi Development Authority's decision to reduce its allotted land from 2.47 acres to 1.29 acres, with part of the original allotment given to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for a school. After the High Court's conflicting directions, both parties appealed. The Supreme Court accepted the Chief Secretary's recommendation that both institutions could function viably with their current holdings (1.354 acres for the Society and 1.345 acres for MCD) under contemporary planning norms. The appeals were disposed of accordingly.
