Medical Council of India vs Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences and Others

Bench: 3 — <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

The Medical Council of India challenged a Delhi High Court order that had directed a medical institute to admit students in its M.B.B.S. programme for the 2015-16 academic year, following the Council's refusal to renew permission. The Supreme Court had earlier stayed the High Court order on 16 October 2015, preventing admissions. Since the academic year had concluded by the time of judgment and no operative relief remained, the Court disposed of the appeals as moot.
