Medical Council of India vs Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences and Others

Bench: 3 — <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

The Medical Council of India appealed High Court orders directing the renewal of its permission for Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences to admit M.B.B.S. students in 2015-2016. The Supreme Court, noting that it had stayed the impugned orders and the academic year had by then concluded with no students admitted, found the appeals had become moot. As nothing practical remained to be adjudicated, the Court disposed of both appeals without deciding the underlying merits.
