This judgment concerns consolidated civil appeals arising from a long-standing dispute over a place of worship. After the Supreme Court directed mediation proceedings to resolve the dispute, the mediation committee chaired by Justice (Retd.) F.M.I. Kalifulla reported that no final settlement was reached. The Court therefore ordered that the case hearing resume on the merits on a day-to-day basis starting 6 August 2019, with counsel directed to specify in advance the pleadings and evidence they would rely upon to enable efficient court management."
