The Supreme Court revived an FIR quashed by the Delhi High Court against Vikramjit Singh and Maheep Singh for alleged forgery, fraud and conspiracy in a property transaction. The respondents had allowed an incompetent person to misrepresent himself as Karta of a Hindu Undivided Family while signing an Agreement to Sell, causing the complainant to lose Rs. 1.64 crore. The Court held that mere institution of civil proceedings does not bar criminal investigation, delay in filing the FIR was not fatal for offences carrying over three years' imprisonment, and the allegations disclose cognizable offences requiring investigation.
