R. Srinivasan vs V. Chandrasekaran

Bench: 3 — Kurian

In Brief

This case involved a two-decade-long dispute over the reconveyance of property between R. Srinivasan and V. Chandrasekaran. Despite multiple attempts to settle, the parties remained unable to reach agreement until the Supreme Court intervened by assisting with professional mediation. With the help of mediators Ms. Varuna Bhandari and Senior Counsel Mr. Subramonium Prasad, the parties finally negotiated and executed a settlement agreement on 19 April 2018. The Court disposed of the appeal by affirming the settlement agreement and directing both parties to strictly comply with its terms, thereby concluding the lengthy litigation through consensual resolution.
