Two senior NOIDA officials were convicted of criminal conspiracy and criminal misconduct under the Prevention of Corruption Act for illegally allotting a high-value plot in developed Sector-14A. Deputy CEO Rajiv Kumar obtained multiple unauthorized conversions of his initially allotted plot in Sector-51, while CCEO Neera Yadav approving each step in violation of NOIDA rules. The plot—originally reserved as a guest house—was converted to residential use through document manipulation (evidenced by deliberate cuttings concealing entries). Kumar gained approximately Rs. 9.9 lakh by paying lower rates applicable elsewhere. The Supreme Court confirmed their convictions for conspiracy and abuse of power, but reduced their imprisonment from three years to two, considering the 1994 occurrence and surrendered plot.
