Supreme Court of India 2016-05-09 disposed

S. Jesuretnam (Dead) Through Lrs vs State of Tamil Nadu Rep. By Prabhakara Rao, Principal Secretary to Govt

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

The deceased appellant sought superannuation benefits following an earlier Supreme Court judgment dated 07.02.2013. The State's non-compliant order of 12.09.2014 prompted a contempt proceeding. On 04.04.2016, the Court set aside that order and directed a fresh one in compliance with the original judgment. The State issued a compliant order on 06.05.2016. The Court disposed of the appeal, directing distribution of benefits within six weeks, with interest at 18% per annum from superannuation if benefits remain undistributed, and personal liability for responsible officers.
