This appeal concerned the appointment of Shushma Pandey as a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Patliputra Medical College, Dhanbad, which was challenged before the Supreme Court following a Patna High Court order. However, the Court found that both the appellant and the contesting respondent had since retired from service. As a result, the case lost practical utility with nothing remaining to be decided. The appeal was dismissed accordingly.
