In Brief
The Supreme Court considered whether 12% interest should be awarded on revised pay-scale granted to respondent employees by the High Court. The State challenged only the grant of interest, not the revised pay-scale itself. The Court held there was no justification for awarding interest on the revised pay-scale and vacated the order granting interest. The revised pay-scale was to be paid within three months if not already granted. The appeal was partly allowed.
