Supreme Court of India 2017-10-09 disposed

Sudhakar Baburao Nangnure etc vs Noreshwar Raghunathrao Shende & Ors. etc

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

Three writ petitions challenging a promotion order and seniority list for a Director position at the Maharashtra Town Planning authority had been pending before the High Court with an interim status quo order since September 2016. The Supreme Court, after the High Court missed a prior two-month deadline for disposal, directed the High Court to finally hear and decide all three petitions within 10 days, with agreement from both parties to appear on 31 October 2017 as the first item of business. The Court reserved the right to supervise compliance by allowing parties to mention if the direction was not fulfilled.
