In Brief
The Supreme Court allowed an application to appoint a fresh arbitrator to replace one who had passed away. The original arbitrator, Ram Prakash Bajaj, a retired District Judge, had been appointed by the Court in September 2018 to settle a dispute between the parties. Following his death, the Court appointed Justice K. Chandru, a former Judge of the Madras High Court, as the sole arbitrator to continue the proceedings and resolve the dispute.
