In Brief
Suraz India Trust and its Chairman approached the Supreme Court seeking permission to argue in person and challenging the constitutionality of Section 3 of the Judges (Enquiry) Act, 1968. The Court found that the Trust had filed 64+ petitions, all unsuccessful, and had made unfounded and scandalous accusations against multiple judges of the Rajasthan High Court and the Supreme Court. The Court allowed the appearance but found the litigation pattern to be frivolous and an abuse of judicial process. It imposed exemplary costs of Rs. 25 lakhs, restricted the Trust and its Chairman from filing any further public interest litigation, and disposed of the petition as a warning against frivolous litigation and misuse of the Court's jurisdiction.
