The Supreme Court dismissed a tenant's appeal challenging an eviction order for non-payment of rent in a rented premises. The High Court had upheld the Rent Controller's finding of bonafide requirement for possession by the landlord. Finding no grounds to interfere, the Court dismissed the appeal but granted the tenant a grace period until 31 December 2017 to vacate while continuing to pay rent at the contractual rate, subject to filing an undertaking.
