Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. NDPL House vs Manoj Misra and Ors. etc. etc

Bench: 2 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. (NDPL) appealed against the National Green Tribunal's order directing environmental compensation to be collected from households through electricity bills. The Supreme Court, while not commenting on the Tribunal's direction's correctness, held that the Tribunal's subsequent direction for introducing sewerage charges would modify the environmental compensation direction. The Court directed that the modified direction be implemented within two months, noting that Supreme Court interim orders had previously prevented implementation. The appeals were disposed of with this modification.
