This judgment disposed of miscellaneous applications and contempt petitions arising from Civil Appeal Nos 11948-11950 of 2016 concerning TV News Correspondents and TV Assistant News Correspondents. The Court condoned the delay in filing contempt petitions. It directed that arrears be paid to parties in the proceedings by 15 March 2022. Crucially, the Court held that benefits from the underlying judgment dated 26 September 2018 shall become payable to non-parties and intervenors from that date, and extended benefits to similarly situated TV Assistant News Editors by 30 June 2022, without requiring them to initiate separate proceedings.
