A 1955 money suit decree of Rs. 11,666.66 remained partly unsatisfied despite decades of execution proceedings. Property was sold at auction for Rs. 13,700 to the plaintiff's son. The Supreme Court initially dismissed the appeal challenging the sale, but on review discovered that the judgment debtor had paid Rs. 13,800 through bank drafts—which the District Judge had deemed satisfactory compliance. The Court recalled its 2013 order and allowed the appeal, setting aside the property sale. However, the judgment debtor had violated interim restraining orders by selling property to third parties. The Court imposed Rs. 50,000 compensation for contempt rather than harsher punishment.
