A civil money suit filed in 1955 resulted in a decree for Rs. 11,666.66. During execution of the decree, the Judgment Debtor was granted time to pay the amount and made several installment deposits totaling over Rs. 35,906. The Supreme Court had earlier dismissed the Judgment Debtor's appeal on 20.09.2013, but in this review petition the Judgment Debtor produced the District Judge's 1971 order declaring the decree satisfied. The Court recalled its earlier judgment, set aside the property sale, but found the Judgment Debtor had violated interim restraint orders by selling property. Taking a lenient view, the Court imposed Rs. 50,000 compensation instead of custodial contempt. Both petitions were disposed of accordingly."
