In Brief
The appellants sought to challenge a High Court order dismissing writ appeals, but were never parties to the original writ petitions or writ appeals, nor did they seek to be added as party respondents. The Supreme Court held that non-parties lack standing to appeal against orders in proceedings in which they did not participate and did not seek party status. The Court declined to examine the merits for the first time at the instance of non-parties, especially where actual parties to the proceedings did not themselves appeal the order, and left the parties to pursue their rights in appropriate forums."
