In Brief
A sister and brother disputed partition of property through a civil appeal to the Supreme Court. Rather than adjudicate the dispute, the Court encouraged both parties and their counsel to seek amicable settlement. The parties reached a compromise and filed a memorandum of settlement dated 21 August 2017, duly signed by all. The Court disposed of the appeal in terms of this compromise deed, which was recorded as part of the final decree. No costs were awarded.
