In Brief
The Delhi Development Authority appealed against the setting aside of its land acquisition proceedings. The Supreme Court dismissed the appeals, finding the issues covered by prior judgments. However, recognizing the circumstances, the Court granted the Authority one year to initiate fresh acquisition proceedings under Section 24(2) of the RFCTLARR Act, 2013. If no such proceedings are initiated within that period, the Authority must return physical possession of the land to the original owner.
