The Supreme Court upheld the convictions of the woman (Farida Begum) and one co-accused based on credible eyewitness testimony of their presence and roles in the killing, rejecting claims about lack of visibility and inconsistent evidence. However, the Court acquitted two other accused, finding insufficient proof they fired weapons, given the implausibly small room dimensions and absence of ballistic evidence. The Court also sua sponte acquitted a fourth co-accused on similar grounds, despite his failure to appeal."
