In Brief
In this appeal, the appellant sought enhancement of compensation in a land acquisition matter from 1990, but the High Court rejected the claim solely on grounds of delay. The Supreme Court condoned the delay and remitted the matter to the High Court for consideration on merits, following an identical decision in Civil Appeal No. 1045/2018. The condonation is conditional: the appellants shall not receive any statutory benefits for the delay period if enhancement is granted. The Court requested expeditious disposal of the matter by the High Court.
