Manish Sahu and Anr vs Union of India and Ors

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

The Supreme Court disposed of appeals by Diploma and Technician Trainees whose selection to posts at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Kanpur was cancelled. After the High Court declined to intervene, the appellants approached the Supreme Court. Upon HAL confirming that no recruitment was planned for these posts in the near future as related projects remained incomplete, the Court made absolute a conditional proposal: should HAL undertake future recruitment to these posts, it must accommodate the appellants whose earlier selection was cancelled. The appeals were disposed with this condition and no costs.
