In Brief
The Supreme Court disposed of two Special Leave Petitions that challenged a High Court interim order dated 24 August 2018. Rather than substituting its own judgment, the Court requested the High Court to dispose of the pending Special Appeals on their merits and as expeditiously as possible. The Supreme Court clarified that it had not considered the substantive merits, leaving that task entirely to the High Court. It also directed that the interim directions would not operate during the interregnum period. The Special Leave Petitions were disposed of with these directions.
