Pappu @ Hans Raj vs State of Punjab & Anr

Bench: 2 — R. Banumath

In Brief

Two men appealed their conviction for the murder of a couple on 27 September 2003 arising from a dispute over a buffalo calf. The appellant Pappu and co-accused Daljit Kumar were convicted under Section 302 IPC (murder) and sentenced to life imprisonment after eye witnesses testified they inflicted fatal injuries on the deceased. The trial court and high court found the injuries showed clear intention to kill. The Supreme Court, finding no reason to disturb the concurrent findings of guilt, dismissed the appeals.
