In Brief
This case concerns a longstanding family dispute over land in Delhi's Burari Revenue Estate. After partition of India, the land was divided among family members under consolidation proceedings in 1975–76. When the respondents claimed Bhumidari (landlord) rights alongside the appellants, litigation ensued spanning decades and reaching the Supreme Court. The Court held that the original dispute had achieved finality and could not be reopened. Though the appellants remained free to pursue separate legal remedies for additional land left undistributed, they could not use further writ petitions or revision petitions to reopen concluded matters. The appeal was dismissed.
