The Supreme Court dismissed a main writ petition but addressed a follow-up application by the petitioners seeking return of money and title deeds deposited during the proceedings. The petitioners had deposited Rs 35 lakhs in compliance with interim directions intended to test their bona fides. Rs 25 lakhs was withdrawn by respondents, leaving Rs 10 lakhs with the Registry in a fixed deposit. The Court held that following dismissal of the main petition, the petitioners were entitled to: return of the Rs 10 lakhs with accrued interest, refund of Rs 25 lakhs from respondents within three weeks, and return of all title deeds.
