In Brief
A landowner sought to compel a petroleum corporation to purchase his property at an agreed rate after years of litigation. The Supreme Court's earlier order had fixed the property area at 1,324 sq. meters and value at Rs. 10,37,38,048. The corporation subsequently reconsidered and approved the purchase. While the appellant sought a correction recognizing 1,361 sq. meters, he ultimately agreed to proceed with the 1,324 sq. meter measurement to avoid delay. The Court allowed the appeal, directing the corporation to deposit the agreed amount plus 9% annual interest (from June 2014 to payment) in court, from which the appellant would execute and register the sale deed, subject to a deduction for outstanding stamp duty liability.
