Shyam Narayan Chouksey vs Union of India

Bench: 3 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

This writ petition addresses the application of Supreme Court orders relating to disabled persons. The Court allowed the National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled (NPRD) and the States of Maharashtra and Rajasthan to join the case. Upon application, the Court modified its previous orders to exempt wheelchair users, persons with autism, cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, cured leprosy, muscular dystrophy, and deaf-blind persons from the scope of those orders. Other disability categories were referred to the Union of India for further consideration. The substantive petition and a recall application were scheduled for joint hearing."
