The appellant challenged a Lok Adalat award before the High Court, but was not a party to the original suit or settlement. The High Court dismissed the challenge on the ground that the appellant lacked standing as an aggrieved party. The Supreme Court learned that the core settlement issue is already pending before the High Court with both sides represented. Accordingly, the Court set aside the High Court judgment and remitted the matter to be consolidated with the pending miscellaneous petition, allowing the substantive issues to be decided in a proper forum where all relevant parties are involved.
