Vandana Tyagi vs Apeejay Saraswati P.G. College for Girls & Ors

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

The appellant, a Principal of a girls' college, challenged an interim order restraining her from performing her functions, granted in a Letters Patent Appeal filed by the college management. The Supreme Court found the appeal ready for hearing and requested the High Court to dispose of it expeditiously before summer vacation. Pending disposal, the Court restrained the Management from filling the Principal's post on a permanent basis. The Court preserved all contentions, including the maintainability of the appeal itself, for the High Court's consideration. The appeal was disposed of without deciding the substantive issues."
