A village murder case stemming from political rivalry between families resulted in the death of the victim after a violent assault by four accused using multiple weapons. The Trial Court and High Court convicted all four under murder provisions. The Supreme Court upheld convictions of Accused Nos. 1, 2, and 4 (who wielded the fatal axe) for murder with life sentences. However, the Court modified Accused No. 3's conviction from murder to culpable homicide not amounting to murder (Section 304 Part II), sentencing him to 10 years imprisonment.
