In Brief
Air India challenged a High Court order that had directed the continuation of an older airport tariff order pending appeals before the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority Tribunal (AERAAT). The Supreme Court vacated the High Court's interim order, finding that a newer tariff order had already come into force and been implemented. The Court held that while the interim order must be set aside, the tribunal must work out the ultimate financial adjustment when deciding the pending appeals, and directed the AERAAT to decide the matter expeditiously within two months to finally resolve the tariff dispute.
