In Brief
The appellant challenged the High Court's bail condition requiring a cash security deposit of two crores rupees in the form of fixed deposit receipts. The Supreme Court found this amount excessive and onerous. While sustaining the High Court's order in all other respects, the Court modified the cash security requirement to one crore rupees, payable through fixed deposit receipts from any nationalized bank. The appeal was disposed of with partial modification of the bail condition.
