In Brief
Rabindranath Barik sought modification of a stringent security condition imposed as a bail requirement by the High Court. The appellant could not offer exclusive property but a benevolent relative agreed to provide solvent security of Rs. 15 lakhs. The Supreme Court, noting that investigation was complete, charge sheet filed, and co-accused had already furnished Rs. 2 crores in security, allowed the appeal. The Court modified the bail condition, waiving the original requirement and substituting it with solvent property security of Rs. 15 lakhs, to be furnished within one month.
