In Brief
The appellant challenged the High Court's bail order which imposed a cash security deposit of Rupees two crores as a fixed deposit (STDR) from a nationalized bank. The Supreme Court found the amount to be onerous given the facts and circumstances. It reduced the required security deposit to Rupees one crore while upholding all other conditions of the High Court's bail order. The appeal was partly allowed with the modification to the security amount.
