Delhi Development Authority vs Amarjeet Singh and Ors

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

Delhi Development Authority appealed against a decision affecting land acquisition proceedings. The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal, finding the issue covered by prior judgments. However, recognizing the peculiar circumstances, the Court gave the Authority six months to initiate fresh acquisition proceedings under the 2013 Act. If no fresh notification is issued within this period, the Authority must return physical possession of the land to the original owner.
