Santosh Kumar Mishra vs Neeru Mishra

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

In this matrimonial dispute, the appellant challenged the reversal of a decree of nullity of marriage. When the matter came before the Supreme Court, both parties opted for mediation through the Supreme Court Mediation Center. The parties reached an amicable settlement on 14 May 2018, with the appellant paying ₹8.5 lakhs to the respondent. The Supreme Court found it unnecessary to continue the litigation and accordingly quashed or dismissed all seven pending criminal and matrimonial cases across various courts in Uttar Pradesh and the High Court of Allahabad, thereby relieving the parties from further litigation.
