In Brief
The appellant landlord challenged an eviction order dated 27 April 2010. Rather than adjudicate the merits, the Supreme Court suggested that the landlord extend the tenant's time to vacate. The landlord agreed. The Court held that overall justice was best served by allowing the tenant until 31 December 2020 to surrender possession, during which the tenant would continue paying monthly rent of Rs. 1,102. The tenant was required to file an undertaking within three months. The appeals were disposed of on this basis.
