The Supreme Court set aside orders of the Rent Controller and High Court allowing ejectment of a tailor-tenant and remitted the matter back to the Rent Controller. The tenant required only minimal space for his tailoring business. The Court noted that after reconstructing a staircase, the landlord could provide suitable alternative space within the same building to accommodate the tenant. The Rent Controller was directed to examine whether such accommodation is feasible and to require the landlord to provide equivalent space before any ejectment order is passed.
